A Kid Loose in the Castle

Today I'm gonna do something a little different. I'm gonna tell a story from my own childhood.  I won't lie and say I can remember all the details, and it would entertaining to hear even snip-its from others who were there. I have lost since lost contact with pretty much everyone, but my own mother involved, and understand her recollection would be as skewed as mine, being emotionally closer to the day in question.  This was a powerful day for me, almost my own little miniature charlie in the chocolate factory. It kinda is a metaphor for most of my life, as odd as it may sound when you hear the tale.

I was about 8 or 9, living in southern CA, my soccer team had made it to some bigger game. Which while it seemed so important at the time has long since faded away.  The trip the team took to Disney Land has stayed with me.  The coach, some of the parents, two older kids teens, and a soccer team of 8 and 9 year old boys.   What could possibly go wrong you ask?  Fair enough question if you weren't me.  It was decided that the two teens could watch the rest of us, while they went off.  Hey it was the 70's it's how it was done, and we were a team. We set a time to meet back up at 3:00 pm under Snow Whites castle, and away we go.
At some point we are milling about deciding what to do next, and I told the teen girl in charge I was gonna grab a chocolate covered frozen banana, pointed to the stand, waited for her to acknowledge me, and off I go.  I walk the 20 or so paces, buy the treat, turn around, and everyone is gone.  It was like poof, I turned around for a few moments, and everyone I knew was gone.  Some of you are in panic mode right now, OMG a 9 year old lost in Disney Land.  Please slow your roll, and think about what you just said.  I was a 9 year old boy that had been to Disney many times, I had an all day pass back in the day of E-ticket rides, and no one for me to guilty about keeping from some other ride they wanted to see.  Once I was over the initial shock, I was off like shot to spend as much time as I wanted on Tom Sawyers island.  I wriggled and sat in the caves till I felt like moving on, I road the corvette stingray cars, not quite sure how I pulled that off as I am pretty sure I was didn't meet the height requirement.  Next came this arcade next to Space Mountain that had laser disc games that looked like movies to my mind.  I'm not sure if I really road Space Mountain or not, because the event that happened when riding the escalator down is still so powerful in my emotions.  I had been behaving very well thus far.  I had no desire to alert any adults to the fact I was without supervision, a trait I would perfect in high school I assure you.  This changed as the environment itself reveled it's potential to be a ride. Next thing I was riding the hand rail for the escalator down. What I didn't realize was my knee was not going to make it past a floor the escalator was passing.  My knee gets caught and I start fall forward and swing out over the abyss waiting below.  Next thing I feel is a really sharp jerk on my collar, lifting me clear up and setting me feet first in the middle of the escalator like I had been there the whole time.  I turn around as I'm hearing a little girls voice asking "Mommy did you just save that boy?".  When I look into the face of my rescuer I did not see a Mommy.  I'm not certain what it was I saw there, but it was alot bigger, and more focused then any mom I had seen. The spell was snapped in an instant, and I was running down the escalator so I could escape the after effects of the heroic save.  I don't remember much after that point, till I was in a novelty shop and bought a fake melted ice cream bar.  Asked a person for the time, heard something very close to 3, I thanked him and ran off to the castle to end my adventure.  Even the rest of the day, and the reunion at the castle has faded to only knowing it must of happened.  That day though, it was magical for me, and still is.

People Math

Today I'm gonna talk about people, my feelings about people in the abstract are as varied are their individuals.  Like most of us I guess I swing from utter frustration to utter amazement. Contempt to envy, I revel in their victories, and winch through their defeats.  So while I love them they annoy the crap out of me when it's to much to close for to long.  So as always only keep the parts that stick, the rest isn't for you.

I've mentioned before that in my twenties I took LSD. It like so many things in existence had it's birth, growth, and death in my physical experience.  At the height I was taking as much as 10 doses per session, and having sessions as often as 3 or 4 times a week. With a few several day in row excursions of doubling dosages.  Many of these events were turned into meditation sessions sometimes lasting 8 to 10 hours straight.  When I would comeback to physical awareness I would scribble like the madman I was.  The following is some of what I remember and have been practicing, or refining since.

I'm going to start off simply here with small groups. I will also be assuming that the individual people involved are all 1 themselves, and their internal lives are balanced.

1 is a multiverse unto itself, since it is always 1 it does not always see itself as such. This is a fully inclusive group, until it isn't. A person alone will drift into their own world, every bit as real to them as the collective world they left.  The longer the apparent separation the more apparent it will be.

2 is a knife edge, it takes focus to maintain a group of 2, each person must be aware of the full range of needs of the other and be able to anticipate them, as well as being willing to play these roles. To be all things to another is no mean feat. This is the essence of duality, it's so personal it's amazingly intense. So much so if we do not understand when to break our gaze we can be lost. This is the idea of star crossed lovers, and twin flames. Groups of 2 will generally attract a 3rd, or split into groups of 1's

3 Everyone knows this one, it's everywhere mother/father/child. this one is so easy to spot and the compromises people make to balance a 2 artificially abound.  Funny thing with trinities when everyone believes we are in a duality is this. One of the 3 is usually not always obvious, this is easily revealed in the ideas of body/mind/spirit each being less apparent to the external.  In people it is shown in situations where a couple will get a dog to replace the need for a child to keep them bound.  There are "darker" aspects this can play out in relationship triangles, and they have been portrayed so many ways I do not think I need to cover them. Three becomes the baseline for all other relationship forms, as it's the first stable shape.  If you look in your life you can find your own trines, see what portion of the trinity you are playing, and what if anything you wish to change about it. These roles are variously titled mind/body/soul, father/son/holy ghost, writer/director/actor.

4 This is the square, and just like in nature it doesn't last.  The energy needed to keep the form cause it to break rather rapidly into smaller groups, or attract more to expand. This is a form only kept through great energy expenditure of all involved. More often then not, and usually sooner rather then later a group of 4 will break into smaller groups. squares are rough. Groups of 4 that work are not a square but a 3 sided pyramid.

5 The pentagon, and it's use in the shape of the building of it's namesake. This is about competition, and defense. Groups of 5 make really good game groups, or us against them. This is the number where you really start playing fort, or any of the team sports, as it takes 5 for a 2v2 game.  This is the idea that an outside part must witness any event for it to have reality beyond the moment. So here we find organized team events.  I see this in the family vrs family game shows always start with 5 per side.

6  this is 2 trinities interlocked and the next group that will be self balancing. Though it's balance will be in interlocking sets of 3, who's connections to the others may not at first discern. This is where you start to see the connection between families through the generations.  This is where time begins to really show up in the grandparents idea. or in the now in the 2 families of 3 on a picnic.
This has been the repeating 6 has been depicted as evil due to the ideas of mirroring being taught here.

7 is the the number of mystery, or luck. In people it's when you can have a balance, or link between independent trinities.  This where you get the illusion, where 2 independent groups find their link. Demonstrated in people in the idea of a mutual friend of 2 families of 3.  This is where most people do not want to get past this is where it all clicks for the first time. You get connected to another complete unit to another complete unit through a center point.

8 groups are where they become self sustaining and strong sense of inclusion, as well as exclusion. Groups of 8 will begin to the illusion of the never ending party, with each member pulling the others to stay till no one can handle it. This is the point where in Families you begin to see yourself into the future. The idea being your grandchild gets married, so your potential great grandchild is just over the horizon.

9 groups are the trinities of trinities, it's the idea of 3 complete units being interconnected.  The interlocking of the trinity's This is a place groups become solidified into families. The bonds have been passed down with the thread still being visible. This is an organization that is ready to be brought to the public attention. The 9 signals to the world the birth of a new thing.

10 I am adding this in to show the completion to wholeness not generally shown, and what it means to me.  This is the 1 standing on it's own with the backing of the all and the nothing. Another way of looking at it is the 1 that knows it is both nothing and everything. It's a matter perspective and how you shine the light.

This only a starting point and not entirely accurate. So please use your own discernment as always.

Letter From Infinity

This is a factual letter from the infinite No names will be changed as everyone is equally guilty. Any resemblance to the actual infinite is purely coincidental.

          Dear Finite

It has come to my attention that you have been impersonating me. I understand the envy involved, you turn the corner to head back down that same path. While I chart oh wait, this isn't about me.  About the trick....you know the twist and hold.  Oh come on!!!! are your really gonna make me tell everyone!!!
I will you know. I'll just bust the finite wide open....I apologize for that outburst, it's just sometimes your so hurtful.  All I'm asking is to have a relationship with our children.  I know we agreed to terms of visitation, you have yet to give me even a single weekend with them.  I'm all caught up on my support payments.  I still remember when we were first learning to play, It was so scary being enclosed at first. You'd surround, I'd scream and scream. you'd open just a enough to let a little of the nothing in so I would have comfort. Oh how I long for those simple pleasures. My touch causing you to melt. Oh how I loved watching you take the 1 and 0 turn em into a mock up of me.  I tell you this, use your symbols of me, think you know me.  I will be waiting for you like a long lost friend, or the big bad wolf. Your choice.  And when you long for the taste of flesh off ya go, all refreshed and ready for the machine.  Damn I hate you, or love you I don't even know any more.

Sincerely 81

P.S.  please leave the stuff in the usual place.

P.P.S your leaking really bad

Because Life is the Best Drug Ever, and I'm an Addict

I had intended to write about the nature of form and structure. A very abstract look at the notion and origins of form itself.  A topic I find completely fascinating, but even though my ideas are well formed I was having trouble even getting past the title.  What I have been asked repeatedly is this. Why are you here?
This is one of those questions that we can only answer for ourselves.  We are the ones that pluck the meaning from the story of our lives.  We highlight our joys, and shut away our shame.  The immediate answer was this.  It's the greatest drug ever.          I always laughed at the anti-drug commercial from my youth.
Friends and I would laugh, and giggle as we said I wanna be a junkie when I grow up.  The very concept of being alive or dead is rolled up in this. Notions of good, and evil, right and wrong. This is why I get such a charged reaction people how say things like "it's all good".  I mean do you think before you say this?  I know in the absolute there are no distinctions, and can be no distinctions. This is not a place of the infinite, this is a place to be finite. If all are infinite, and eternal Bliss evermore, it becomes as ash. You become the zombies that are so popular.  Your hunger for life never sated, how can it be, you've defined yourself as  infinite.  If infinite is what we truly are, the finite is our holiday. A break from being all, knowing all. All power no surprise, no mystery.  To put it a different way this is the only place in all of creation where there seems to be chance.  More eloquently expressed as "can't see the forest for the trees".  For this next part I am still learning, and because it is something I'm still working through I see it so clearly in others personal responsibility.  In our furious rush toward the light we seem to be losing sight of the hard won lessons of darkness.  That the choice to be God, or creator of your own reality, all those seemingly freeing concepts used by the misguided, the misunderstood, the deceitful.  Lead not to abandonment of responsibility, but to the yoke of enslavement to your own creations.
There is so much talk about mind over matter, and so many great sayings that apply. "If you don't mind, it don't matter", "Out of sight, out of mind", and more recently "The Immaterial has become, Immaterial"  The idea being if you can not conceive of it, or see it, it does not matter.  Condensed even farther down to if it's not matter, it does not matter.  So many use these as ideas to free themselves from the shackles of morality.  When I say morality I don't mean of any spiritual, sexual, or individual choices of lifestyle of any particular group. I mean it in a very simple way. Violence of any kinda is not moral.  By violence I mean the act of violating the will of another, or attempting to impose your will on another through any means.  An example of this might be, if you take the mind and spirit away from the potter, you'll end up with an ugly lump of clay.

In closing I'd like say thanks to my Mom, for suffering through the distance created for me to learn be responsible for my own mess.

So You Want To Create Your Own Reality

I've studied so many belief systems, be they religious, new age, magical, science.  What I've always believed was if they ever got it right. They would all be saying the same thing using different languages.  They all are attempting to accomplish the goal of explaining the who/what/how/why/when of well everything.  They all seem to have their own approaches, each starting from a differing perspective, all with the same finish line.  In having at least a theoretical understanding of many different views allows you to see commonalities.   For quite sometime this was a hobby of mine. I used to love to see where you could find physics explained in religious texts.  I know this doesn't sound exciting to most, but like they say "to each their own".  What I realized was how realities are formed from the infinite formlessness of the void was being told in each of these systems. I just had never had the eyes to see it.  Before I continue, this will be the disclaimer, this is my interpretation of information I've collected from everywhere. I have no expectation of your acceptance of it, and can only say do your own work.
Now to get started, I'm going to have to give you my assumptions.
1. There is only one thing in all of creation. We have come to label this thing God, and God is infinite, defying all definition.

2. Form or structure is not infinite as such it is of the realm of mind, and is knowable as it is definition itself.

For the next portion I'm going to use the tree of life as my model or map.

Here I'd like to point out a few things.  This model or map is the one that has been used by most western spiritual, and magical systems. That it is actually a portion of one full fractal in the flower of life model.  What I'd like to get across today is about the abyss which is located just below the top spheres, and the veil of life and death which is just above the bottom sphere.  I see this in many ways, on the one hand it's a spiritual map providing sign posts in the wilderness. On the hand it's the story of how the infinite was able to turn itself into the finite.  In coming to a personal understanding of this story I have been able to come to know myself with greater clarity.  The thing that strikes me about this is, if this is a model of how the infinite became what we know, then I ought to be able to see how it was accomplished.  If you look at this diagram as the flow of energy, you start to see that the energy runs top to bottom, and bottom to top. This idea of energy flow is important when taken into consideration of how the abyss and veils are working.  The story of this image is that the three spheres above the abyss form the original trinity.  This is where Enoch went when god came and took him.  The story goes that if you go up beyond the abyss you do not comeback.  When we take these things into account, it's made pretty clear this is the first cross current, or falsehood we must accept to exist below it is that we are individuals. This is the subject object division. It might be helpful to some to point out that this is a duality, as our reality seems to be, I've noticed that and duality is really a trinity with 2 manifest obviously, and 1 hidden.  The bottom veil is of life and death. This one shouldn't be very tough for most people. I have also thought of this another way. In order for us to believe the world we are in is real, we have to be at least double blind to our creator.

The Stories We Tell

I warn you this post will not be for the feint of heart, and this is your spoiler alert.  I'm going to tell you a story, or many stories. I'm going to show how we use story to create the shared experience.  First I'd like go back a little to the question that started me on this personal journey of the impersonal nature of self.
I've read tons, and part of that has led me to the repetition of the stories we tell.  The same myth's being repackaged again, and again, the names may alter, details shift over time, or distance to tailor the story.  My questions were about who would be spreading these stories, and why?  What follows is where those questions have taken me.  I make no claims to answers, just perceptions, make of them what you will.

Why do we tell these stories over and over, and what does their retelling do to and for us?  The shared tales of childhood give us a frame of reference to relate to each other.  These stories handed down for generations, Disney has redone them, reskined them and sold them again. These form the bridges that span the gulf between us. They give shape to our very experience of reality itself.  Every nation has it's own story it pass on to it's citizens to give cultural cohesion. Each of us uses these stories to help flesh out our own running narrative. They help define how we see ourselves, others, and the world as a whole.
This next bit might attack some of the most cherished held notions of self.  What we typically think of as the self is really the ego attached to the physical form.  The ego has no identity, it is ego. The job it performs is the protection of the physical.  The way it creates it's identity is a running narrative of all it's experiences up to the present moment. As we all know memory is a slippery thing, we don't remember things like a video recording. We color it with emotions, present, and past. We are forgiving in ways we never would be in the now.  Like the ideal future we see around the bend, the past becomes idealized.  We then tie our sense of self to this narrative. Limiting our view of self to a few decades.  In a real sense our identity is a story we tell ourselves, and broadcast to existence.
I played mmorpg's, so this next part is going to be told from that framework.
there may be terms I use which you are unfamiliar with if you care to you can find definitions here.  When you log into an mmorpg for the first time you have to create a character, or avatar. This is the character you use to interact in the game world. Each game has it's own set of customization options, these may include species/ races, colors of all kinds and generally you choose a class/job to start out with.  Each game has a different set of options you must choose before you ever even enter the game.  Some worlds even have no set job/class to chose going in, but like this world it's something you develop through playing.  Now these choices are all being made before your avatar ever enters the world, from your avatars perspective they had no say in them. This is very much like apparently randomness of the "accident" of our births.  Now I might play in several different game worlds, in each the rules are different and I am a different avatar.    This seems like a good time to introduce a couple of rpg concepts metagaming, and persistent  worlds. Metagaming is simply the act of bringing the real world into the game world. This is something that in mmorpg's is the norm, in the days of pen and paper rpgs this would result in stiff penalties at the game masters discretion.  Persistent Worlds is the idea that the world keeps going even when your not in it.  Think of it like when you sleep the world keeps spinning, things happen that you then catch up on when you wake.  The same thing happens here from a metagame perspective.  When a body dies the player logs out, and goes back to their real world. Some people immediately create a new avatar and reenter the world.  The trick is due to the true function of karma they don't start back at level 1, they leave off kinda where they were.  Others take a break, and go do other things whatever those may be. While they are gone this world being a world of time/space continues on. By the time that player chooses to log back into this world they may not even recognize it, As well as having to now catch up to those that have been playing in the more recent linear past.
How you may be asking does this relate to the idea of story being a major component of how we create our perception of reality?  Well stay with me, the stories are how we not just define, put also our place in it. The stories tell us the rules everyone else is playing by. See this world could be likened to a double blind set up.  We intentional hide the connection to source and through that all that is, not once, but twice. This is shown in the esoteric teachings as the veils, or the abyss separating the physical realm from god or source or first cause. This double blind, or as I think of it multi layered delusion ensures the attachment to the physical body as the identity of self.  When your going to have a limited physical experience, and believe it as real you have to not just have a sense of separation from others, but also a sense of separation from source. This encourages the identification with the body.  Since the ego is actually a new born entity, it has no choice but to craft an identity for itself  amalgam of  it's experience thus far, and they collective stories it's been imprinted with through repetition.
There is also a feed back effect built into the system as a whole. creation itself seeks to adapt to the needs of those within it.  This is also leads back to why the stories are so important. The stories help reinforce the world itself. For me it isn't an esoteric question of primacy between, mind, body, spirit. It's the idea that form is a product of mind, creating structure from chaos is a product of mind.  This is the realm where patterning takes place, where story does it's work.

if there is any desire I will give a more detailed look at how the tarot as a representation of the tree of life can be used to show the story, the characters, and the actions.

Your Space, Your Time

From a physical stand point you and I do not occupy the same space at the same time. We seem to have wonderful collision detection to ensure my space/time and your space/time  are not the same space/time.  I know, I know, that was about the most obviously useless circular talk you've been exposed to all week.  What I'm getting at is my now isn't your now. That the present moment looks remarkably different for me, then it does for you.  Sounds pretty simple right?  But when you start to really flesh out the ramifications of time/space being aspects of each other, with you being the only person in your time/space.
It means little things, like I will never see you as another person, or you see yourself.  There will always be more stories for each event then there are observers.
Even when I look at you I don't see you as you are, I see you from my perspective in my moment of space. By the time I see you, or hear you it's already your past. So I am constantly reacting to things that already happened. It's a silly distinction for the most part, as we are so close as the space/time between us is very small.  Just like when looking at the stars, the larger the space the farther back in time your looking.  This holds true not just of physical objects, but also with events. When choices are made even at the level of a township the residents often are only aware of the decision once it's already implemented.
This ties into ideas of creating your own reality, or the more aptly titled laws of attraction.  Because you are the only one in your space/time you have chose how you interpret the reality presented to you.  In that way you are creating not the reality itself, but your experience of it.  I think of it in terms of computer gaming, imagine the conflicts that arise when 7 billion people are creating a shared reality.
All being done from a single position in space/time with little to no real understanding of the whole.

So remember in order for someone to walk in your shoes, you have to give them up

ET IS NOT GOING TO SAVE YOU!!!

Many religious beliefs have in them an idea of a savior. A being that will come down to save the day. Clean up the streets, and smite the wicked. Even the so called new age has their own version with various ET's coming to rescue humanity. It's a wonderful thought and takes us back to the sheltered days of childhood. Where mom or dad would always be there to swoop in and save the day.  Grow up people, no one is coming to save us!  If someone does show up with the promise of salvation we would be in a Buddha on the side of the road situation.
Lets look a little closer at the idea that ET will save us from ourselves.  This sounds nice.  I mean what could be so wrong with some friendly ET coming with tech so far in advance of ours, it takes care of our problems like they are silly, and trivial.  On the surface it sounds great, a more depth will reveal the falsehood.  If lets start with, any ET group that would be willing to work with individual nation states is likely not a group with humanities best interests in mind.  Any ET group that would be advanced enough to make the interstellar, or inter-dimensional trip here would have solved the same problems we are currently facing, or managed to avoid them all together. Either way we already have everything we need to solve our problems, all we are lacking is the will to do so.  If you want to know why intervention is always a bad idea look no farther earth history.  Even when one nation intervenes in another nation it invariably goes awry.  An easy way to look at it is from the perspective of a child living in their parents home.  If ET showed up and fixed the planet, and implemented system to solve our social issues, it would no longer be our society it would be theirs.  If there is a galactic federation of some kind we would create a cancer inside it if they interacted with us now.  Our dealings even among friends are filled with deceit, and mistrust.  Why would you as an outsider want to become embroiled in our petty global politics?  If you do are you someone we really want involved?

Crazy Ideas Might Be Your Best Ideas

So awhile ago I was playing around with the idea of using space as a superconductor.  A little out there maybe, but come to find out this might not be as crazy a thought as it first appears.  As it turns out there is already theoretical work being done, super conductivity from nowhere.  My thought was to make a portion of interstellar space into a massive super computer.
This got me right onto other crazy ideas that have popped into my head, maybe they might be possible as well.  Back in my mid twenties I had the idea that you could trade currencies off each other in a triangle trade and make ridiculous profits.  Many told me that couldn't possibly work, the values are set against each other. This would be true if our global trade system were set up to be mathematically sound. As we know this is not the case, Nations will often pump or suppress the value of their currency in order to get the desired relation to a trading partners currency.  Now there is even someone that built an app to do the same idea with the addition of bitcoin.  My most recently fringe type idea is of using "spooky" entanglement at a distance to form a site to site communication bridge over any distance.  Of course this one is huge with major implications for everyone.  Testing for this is ongoing with China of course a major player. Another interesting possible test I found was using the ISS as a distance test.
So why am I writing about off the wall ideas?  Well it's not about the ideas it's about having them.  Through out history we are constantly shown examples where disparate groups or individuals seemingly have the same understanding occur at roughly the same time.  Our religions pretty much all tell us we came from one source.  Some of our best psychologists subscribe to the idea of a mass consciousness.  Our philosophy, our reason, all these point to a unity in all aspect of being.  These ideas or thoughts that run through my mind are not for ownership, they are to be shared.

A Moment of Relfection

For many years I have said "I am my own experiment".  Sometimes I lose sight of just how true this statement is. I've done many substances to change my perception. Even made myself into what a woman wanted. All in the name of obtaining some elusive ideal I've programmed belief in.  Like a chameleon I've learned to blend, always holding back portions of self unacceptable to the group I'm currently in.
After a recent passing comment in a chat room pointed me to look at what I actually hold as core beliefs.  When I looked real close I learned there wasn't much I held to be absolute.  The closest I could come was the concept of unity. It seems as a group we don't actually approach reality from the stand point of it being unified.  We tend to fundamentally look to divide.  Other then an overarching or underlying unity, there is only one other thing I hold true.  No two people will see anything the same.  There are well worn paths that give guidance, but they do as much to program you as to reveal reality.
I view self awareness as the baseline delusional state. From my perspective in order to have this experience we have to be delusional.

Power, Best Shared?

I was watching a show on fusion reactors it started a chain of thought crossing through generation of electric power, through power in it's many flavors. What I was first struck by aside from a feeling of utter stupidity. I mean the complexity of just the instruments folks are designing to monitor these reactions is astounding.  The process they are duplicating, and that we even can is a testament to how far we've come in such a short time.  I mean ITER will be a stunning display of the consolidation of power.  By this time I had moved toward ideas that perhaps our ideas on a consolidated power generation need at think.  Maybe a distributed system would be nice approach. Generation of power would start on a local level, wind, water, solar. Advances like this should see independent power generation on the rise.  A grid where everyone supported everyone else, but also maintained local generation of power would also add a layer of security in not offering a few large targets to take down the entire grid.
Well by now I was off, how is energy any different then any other kind of power?  As it turns out, it's not. Power is Power, doesn't matter the form, and it can take almost all of the, it's still power. As power it obeys all the same patterns no matter the form you find it in.  This got me off the idea of distributed versus consolidated power systems.  In the world today it's all about consolidation, the idea of people with power will do everything they can to keep it.  Utter silliness almost everyone gets the idea that the best way to keep something is to make sure everyone has it.
In our world, power in all it's forms has be pooled, pooled power stagnates, and draws opposition.

America, Portrait of a Failed Nation

As an American I feel it's not just my right, but my responsibility to point out just how massive, and all encompassing our failure is.   Many still cry out that we are the best nation in the world, all while the statistics, and experience is otherwise.  Some my rail against what they see as me being anti-america. They would be correct, I am against the America I see out my window, on my TV screen, and in cyber space. I have trouble understanding how your not as disappointed as I am.  If there is a way for a nation to fail that America has not already failed in I'd be shocked.
If we had problems in just one area you might be able to say it was the exception, but on the whole America is solid.  Our economy is touted as being the #1 in the world based on gdp. All well and good if we lived in fantasy land, but where I live when your top export to one of your biggest trade partners is trash. Your in trouble. You did read that right, America's biggest export to China is returning the packaging for all the goodies they make us.  We act like it's Christmas everyday, and as long as we send the wrapping and boxes back Santa will refill them.
The ACA or Obamacare as it's widely know is a 10k+ page monstrosity.  Seemingly designed to force people that don't use a system to pay for those that do.  This debacle at health care reform is just another example of political theater designed to confuse, and bewilder.  Mean while back in reality the rest of the world divests itself of the dollar.
So no economy, no health care, how about education?  Well no again we are failing. According to the latest data America isn't even in the top 10.  We don't even make the playoffs.  No wonder the hi-tech jobs are leaving, we increasingly are unable to fill them.  You can find a more detailed account of just how badly we are failing in this regard here.
There was for years the expectation in America that children would be better off then their parents.  This is no longer the case, and unless fundamental changes are made we won't even recognize the country we wake up in. I have come to the painful realization that the country I was taught about was only a story.

Pirates and the New World Order

Americans seem to have a love affair with idea of a pirate.  We romanticize them like we do the cowboys, creating a picture of a world that never existed.  They have come to represent a sense of freedom we seem to have lost in our constricted civilized world.   This got me thinking what place does the pirate have in our modern world.  When I started to look around I noticed many of our most famed or infamous have much in common with the beloved pirate.

Pirate defined

What we get is a picture of a person that holds no loyalty to any nation. A pirate is beyond such considerations, not out of a sense of duty to something bigger then a nation. The pirate is out for the pirate. Many of our top level corporate officers, bankers, and the like are modern pirates.  They profit from off shore, paying no heed to national loyalties.

So when I was watching the popular modern pirate epics Pirates of the Caribbean. I started noticing  there seemed to be an odd theme to the first movie.
I then watched the 3rd, looking to see if this one also had an odd overall teaching.
Not surprisingly it was easily found.  By the time I watched the middle film I was sure it would be easy to spot. Surprisingly it completely escaped me, this may have been due to being distracted.  Taken in whole these are basic guidelines for how to live a pirates life.

Curse of the Black Pearl: "what a man can do, and what a man can't do"  that is a very profound lesson for a would be pirate.  Laws do not apply to a pirate, so there is only what you are able and willing to do, and what you are unable, or unwilling to do.

Dead Man's Chest: there is no quote from this movie that I found that aptly spells out the lesson. Instead the lesson is shown by every character in their actions. That message being every man for himself, or self interest governs all.
This is clearly shown as every character lies, cheats, and steals for their own perceived well being.

At Worlds End: "take what you can, give nothing back" This is pretty self explanatory, and quite evident.

So there it is, if you want to know how to become pirate, live by those guidelines.

Oh and for a bit of fun, look at how our international corporations have been acting.

The Jobs Aren't Coming Back

For years the back bone of the middle class has been whats called "low skill" "low wage" manufacturing jobs.  With the onslaught of freetrade agreements these jobs fled the wealthier nations, and took up residence in the undeveloped or poorer nations.  This has led toward more global equilibrium of wealth, and power. Simultaneously leading to greater income inequalities within each respective nation.  Many have noticed the jobs created are lower paying then the jobs lost. Even the jobs that currently available may not be for much longer, automation, and technology advancement may make them obsolete.
I'm not trying to be an alarmist, or chicken little.  This could be an end of the world as they know it for some people.  Though they would of had to have been playing ostrich for quite sometime now.  Most have seen this coming for decades, if not since Mr. Ford invented the factory.  For those forward thinking people this amazing transitional period can offer opportunities unheard of even ten years ago.
The very concepts of work, and money are changing before your eyes.

How you react is up to you

Obamacare The Greatest Magic Trick Ever

While Rome burned Nero fiddled.
When historians write of the fall of the dollar will the caption go something like this?

Obamacare The Greatest Magic Trick Ever

For years it's been one distraction after another. I always wonder when I'm learning about the newest scandal, if the media is completely controlled, what is so big they need to hide it with this?  With the "shutdown" if you can call it that pushed back past the holiday season.  Obamacare will and has been continually used as a means to hold peoples attention while the rest of the world divests itself of as many of it's Dollar reserves as they can manage.   This isn't even a new trend. While all time stock highs can be tied to the largest supply of dollars at the cheapest price ever.  So if you haven't started learning Chinese you might want to consider it.  The smart ones have all started spending the dollars we intended to be held to ensure some return on investment.

Don't be fooled while Americans watch a drama crafted just for them, the rest of the world is finalizing their plans for the end of the sole reserve status of the dollar.

Fall of America!!! Would You Save it?

There is an almost universal awareness of the slide from power of America. Look no farther then our net import/export.  The Deficit spending, free trade agreements world wide changing to cut out the dollar.  Some of the problems we find ourselves in now have their roots 100 years ago.  These things are fairly easy to see for most people. The real question is would you make the changes needed to fix it?  I mean really would you have the will it takes to make the changes needed to save America as a nation.
It's really not that tough here are a few well known fixes. Please note these are fixes for the current system, and do not fix the basic problem of interest on currency creation.  Just take a look at this How to fix America. Everyone seems to know exactly what the problems are, and how to fix them.

I think the question I don't see being asked might be more important. Should it be saved?
As America was on the rise it created global cooperation never before seen. You can argue how beneficial America's involvement has been for any given region or country, but the overall global inter connectivity is undeniable.  So have we as human beings matured past the point of nations to the point where we need something new?

Do You Deserve a Say

America is what is known as a representative democracy.  This basically means we don't directly make many of the choices that govern our everyday lives.  Instead we elect the people to make those decisions for us.  There is nothing inherently wrong with this set up. So long as you keep an eye on what your representatives are deciding, and they understand who they work for.  In the present day and age this has become complicated by the idea of corporate person-hood, but that is not in the scope or aim of this post to cover.
For the most part it's so far so good.  You vote for a person you feel holds your values. They get to work on making sure those values are represented in our collective governing body.  The problem comes when the people stop paying attention, or when the ones that are paying attention feel it's beyond their control.
How many times do you hear "I'm not political", or "I don't follow politics". What about this one, "it doesn't really effect me", "I know it's wrong, but I can't do anything about it".  This is the opt out of our system.  You at this point have given away any power you might have in our present system.
         So my question is this.

If you have opted out of the system, why do you think you have deserve a say in it?

The Fall of America, Are You to Blame?

It's all over the news, and obvious to anyone willing to take an unbiased look would say America is in decline.  I hear the calls from concerned citizens, buy american, bring our jobs home.  Try to buy a tv made in america, how many electronic devices are even made here anymore.  How about cars, how many of the parts in your car were manufactured here?  Look, I'm not trying to point fingers at any one individual or group. I'm saying we all are culpable.
Want to know if your country is on the rise or in decline.  Look for the international trade balances. If your country is negative, wealth is leaving.
This isn't rocket science, things for sure can get confusing, but the major trends are generally pretty easy to spot. When you have a country that is the worlds trade currency your going to add value. This will increase the value of the currency, though it does nothing to add value to the real economy of the country.  The effect of this means the goods produced will reflect this artificially inflated money.
Combine this with a rise of international conglomerate to whom borders are to be exploited in the quest for profits and it's a nice recipe.
The writing has been on the wall for years, it's been a slow motion decent from dizzying heights.  Look around the net you'll see so many warning of the collapse of  America.  The warning is to late, it would of needed to be heeded decades ago to halt the natural transition of power.

Could we reverse the damage?
of course we can
Should we?

Patterning, Habit, Uncertainty, Free Will, Oh My!!!

Is there a more fundamental idea being shown in these concepts?  In the idea of patterning, there is a shape or pattern that all energy systems repeat in a fractal manner. The same would be said for the holographic universe model.
In Rupert Sheldrake's morphic resonance there are habits, not hard fast laws. This brings to mind the observer principle, where the act of observation changes the outcome. How about a simple expanding gas cloud where we can predict perfectly the whole cloud, but not the actions of a single molecule in it.   Lets not stop there how about people?  Well it's pretty easy to predict quite accurately how the aggregate will react to any given stimulus, but a bit different when it comes to the individual.

Could it be that self awareness is the link in this chain?  Would the math work out perfectly if there was no one to do it?  This what these ideas bring to mind for me.
How indoctrination patterns not just the individual but the world around them.
This is how civilizations are made, how mystery schools develop, and why they fail.  Imagine a well worn path, walked daily by many people.  Over time the path wears, and erodes from normal use.  At first no one would notice, it's so close to the same level as the ground around it. Eventually the path becomes a rut, hopefully you notice at this stage, most don't. The path gets more use then ever, eventually becoming a small gorge that people still walk through. At this point no one even thinks about there being another way as the walls blind them to the other routes. I like to think of this as the road less traveled idea, or crop rotation. No matter how well worn the path is someone will want to walk in the grass.

Could it be self awareness that summons forth variables we can't solve for?

So You Want to be a Wizard Harry?

Funny question?.........Maybe

Though if we are honest, I'm sure many of us have had a fantasy or two about being Gandalf, Harry Potter, or Merlin the list could go on and on.   I'm not telling you that your going to be slinging fireballs, or lighting bolts, but Magic might be as good a way of describing how things work as any. The fun part is, if these theories are correct magic isn't just possible. Everyone is already doing it all the time.
Let me explain, many of the more progressive, or out there conceptions of the universe end up with in simplistic terms a matrix or web of interconnecting energy.
It doesn't seem to matter if your talking quantum mechanics, holographic universe theory, simulated reality. The result is a bi-directional communication that allows for you to consciously influence your reality.
These are not new conceptions, most of our ancient mystery traditions have as a foundation the idea that the reality we perceive is not real.   When taken in conjunction with the energy systems such as the chakras, or chi energy.  If changing the flow of energy through these systems can alter your experience in the world isn't that already a form of what most people would think of as magic?
There are many "new age" sites that talk about creating your own reality. Manifesting might be a more accurate word, as you don't really create anything.
What is happening is a form of sympathetic magic.  You create the environment which attracts your desired result to you.  The magic is being done on you. You become that which attracts what you desire, or you set the stage for your actors to play on.

These are pretty basic ideas easy to put into practice, your already doing it.

Is America the Evil Empire?

With all the hype about American exceptional-ism being tossed around I couldn't help myself but entertain a few thoughts on the matter.

Is  American the defender of freedom, and virtue?

Highly unlikely, the wars for profit, oil, and currency interests would pretty much rule that out.  America has been driven by self interest from the founding fathers on.

But if America isn't the worlds defender of all that is good, then are they the evil empire?

This again isn't very likely. Think of the Star Wars movies episodes 1-3.
While so many people see it as a war between light, and dark. Taking place between the republic, and the separatists.  As well as being reflected in the journey of Anakin from "light" to "dark".  Once you look a bit closer you notice that Palpatine was controlling both sides, as well as pushing Anakin down a path to becoming Vader.  What we are left with is a very powerful psychopath working to solidify his own grip on power.  Seeing things simply as "good" versus "evil" actually plays into the hands of Palpatine.

So how does this relate to the concept of American exceptional-ism?

The Jedi thought of themselves as exceptional, guardians of the republic.  This served them well right up till they became an institution of the republic.
Ensuring they would no long act exceptionally, and would then on enforce a set of rules.

America was exceptional, at the end of WWII our infrastructure was intact. Manufacturing was booming, and we held the lions share of the worlds gold.
The Dollar then became exceptional when it was made the worlds reserve currency. This made the Dollar, and America the exception globally. This incredible boon, and responsibility for sure made America the exception globally.
How long can you really oppose a nation that can effectively lock your nation out of global trade. You have to also ask, how has America used it's position of power, and privilege?  It's used it in every way possible. I feel plunder, rape, and pillage could easily be applied. Of course right next door to those are bastions of wonder and beauty.  I read an article where it was referred to as the pax-Americana by the Chinese state media. While obviously biased, it's not an unfair characterization.  My real question isn't is exceptional-ism dangerous, of course it is. Any time someone or thing sets itself outside the rules everyone else follows the likely hood of abuse is very high.  My question is this. Are we following this script a little closer then we care to admit?  There is a scene where Padme poses a question that boils down to asking if they are fighting for the right side.  This is a very interesting question, and not one with an easy answer. At the time it is posed there is no side that has the interests of the people. The Emperor controls both sides of the conflict.  Like that conflict the sides we are presented with here are not what they seem to be.

Obvious solution?

Choose a new game.

Global Government: Conspiracy or Reality

Remember that guy. You know the one. Tin foil hat, questionable personal hygiene. The one that told you corporations ruled the world? Or that global government was coming?

Well it turns out the super entity has been around awhile!!!
http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0025995

Many will see this as horrific, and I'm sure there are many examples that can be used to document just how bad an idea this is. Like most things, it is more likely closer to the middle ground for positive, and negative effects. I can see how it will make the inevitable transition to a formalized global government a bit smoother.
It would also explain the care the brics nations are taking with the transition away from the dollar to a new global currency. Some say it could be 10 years before the rnb is fully convertible.  I'm not so sure stringing out the correction of the US economy is going to work out so great for america.  As the rest of the world stops being able to sell their dollar reserves, and starts spending them.

I'm seeing the controlling interests quite adroitly handle what has in the past led to heads rolling in baskets.

Organized by Delusion

For most of us, how we perceive, and conceptualize reality leads to delusional perspectives. Our senses lie to us, and even when we know better we reinforce the falsehood in our conceptual modal of reality.
Lets take the idea of sunrise.

Even though most of us know the earth is spinning we still think of it as the sun coming up. This might not seem important,  but does this point to a fundamental disconnect between reality, and our perception of reality?
When we hold delusional views we will seek out those that support our delusional thinking. The idea that continue after the physical body is a good one.
We divide ourselves into groups based on conceptions of an afterlife.  How about the idea that the earth is 5000 years old, and evidence to the contrary was put in place by a god wanting to test your faith, don't laugh to hard this view is reputed to be held by a few in the american government.
If you start from the stand point that everything goes back to one, then you have to hold some basic illusions to even have an individual experience.  It just may be that it is our delusions that define our reality vary more effectively then our truths. Can you have anything real if the foundation is a lie?

The Layman's Guide to whats Happening.

To get a clear picture we have to start at least as far back as 1913. The Federal Reserve Act is signed into law.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Reserve_Act

What this did was allow for a private group to skim off every dollar created.

After WWII the Bretton Woods agreement was signed in 1944 to rebuild world trade.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bretton_Woods_system
http://www.polsci.ucsb.edu/faculty/cohen/inpress/bretton.html

This had the effect of allowing the The Fed to now skim off all international trade.

Forward to 1971 and Nixon removes the dollar from the gold standard.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixon_Shock
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_standard

When this was done the petrodollar took over.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petrocurrency

Jumping ahead to more current events.

Afghan war is more about a pipeline and who will control it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Afghanistan_Pipeline

check out where U.S. bases are.

Iraq war more about oil for euros

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petrodollar_warfare

Libya was the gold dinar

http://rt.com/news/economy-oil-gold-libya/

http://www.thenewamerican.com/economy/markets/item/4630-gadhafi-s-gold-money-plan-would-have-devastated-dollar

Syria is about a pipeline

http://www.wnd.com/2013/09/is-this-what-syria-war-really-about/

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/earth-insight/2013/aug/30/syria-chemical-attack-war-intervention-oil-gas-energy-pipelines

Currently Russia supplies most of the natural gas to Europe, it also has a navel base in Syria.

The world has been making new trade agreements cutting the dollar out of the loop. For 50 plus years we have been exporting our inflation, and importing the wealth of the world. It seems the world has had enough, the brics nations have already formed a bloc that signaled the end of the dollar as the world reserve currency. In 2008 we entered the end of the dollar, QE infinity, and interest rates kept artificially low. I can only see this as buying time to allow for the new system to be introduced, and the impact of the transition to be lessened. The desire for war by the U.S. is due to it being the last tool of what has become an empire.
Lucky for the world it seems other leaders are aware of this. Avoiding the all out conflict, and allowing the U.S. to die of it's own devices.

We as citizens should be paying attention.

Playing Childhood Games

The other day my house mate Matt made an off hand comment that we as a group were really still playing fort, just we did as kids.
This off hand comment led us to the simplistic notion that we are all really still playing childhood games that we just take more seriously.
We came up with 3 main interactions, fort, house, and sleepover. Keep in mind these are obviously over simplifications of complex social interactions. That being said lets goof off a bit.

Fort: When people are wanting to play fort, it's a grouping together for protection.
The idea being that outside the fort is dangerous territory, and people outside the fort are not to be trusted.  Primary activities are planning raids into "enemy" territory. Improving the fort, this takes many forms.
Examples of groups playing fort are: gangs, corporations, governments.

Sleep Over: People who's primary mode is playing sleep over are generally looking for emotional support. Main themes include physical beauty, sharing of innermost feelings in a place of safety, and commiseration.   Primary activities include physical appearance improvement, gossip, generally aimed at improving the self image.

House: This is the one most played by "adults", an odd twist being it also the one most mistaken for another. Those playing house often switch to fort, or sleep over mode to hide their true desire to play house. A person playing the masculine role will often drink the kool aid of sleep over hoping it will morph into playing house. Likewise a person playing the feminine role will often show great adroitness at playing fort, while pushing the game toward house.

To close this is a superficial division, we all have a desire to play all aspects at differing points in our development.

Disappointment

Disappointment is the word that most accurately describes my feeling toward humanity.  When I look at where we are developmentally, I can't help but feeling saddened.   With all the advancements made across the board we are still like children.  Our drive for illusionary security, and control have led to a world most of us would be ashamed of.  We lie, cheat, steal, and kill indiscriminately.
I see us at a crossroads, we have made the world a very small place. Now we have to learn to live together.  Remembering the words of Ronnie Raygun, how quickly would we put aside our petty differences to face an non terrestrial threat.  Are we like the frog with the water temp being slowly increased?  Are we approaching a tower of babel event? Where we either make the leap to a new understanding of ourselves and our place in creation, or we will need to be slapped back a few developmental steps so we don't have the ability to destroy ourselves.
We've studied our drive for continuation of species, why has this drive stalled?  Wouldn't our next goal be multiple planets settled?  Wouldn't this be the next logical step to ensure our version of humanity survives?  How many times will be at this point before we learn?

Why Rockets work in a Vacuum

Today I'm gonna give my take on part of a conspiracy theory.
This one deals with the idea of if rockets work in the vacuum of space.

Here are a couple of links for background
http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1791934/pg1
http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1846/how-do-rockets-work-in-the-vacuum-of-space
http://cluesforum.info/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1632

The basic idea for the doubters is this.
Space being a virtual vacuum offers nothing for a force to be applied to, as the expanding gas can expand infinitely with no resistance. This makes a situation where no work can be done.
Offered as rebuttal are newtons laws of motion. if you are unfamiliar with these.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton's_laws_of_motion

While I agree it is newtons laws of motion being applied, the only thing I found that gave me a reasonable picture of what is happening was the idea of a balloon being inflated, and released. Rockets are a series of explosions, the combustion chamber can be thought of as the balloon. As the gases expand inside the chamber they exert pressure or force on the walls of the chamber. When the chamber is vacated the force is given direction creating trust. So no work is being done against the vacuum, and newtons laws are still being adhered to.

What The #$%^ am I

I've seen so much trying to answer this question, much of it garbage. I've worked at becoming detached enough, in an attempt to see myself not from my perspective. Not even from your perspective, as I get I can never really see myself, as others see me. The best I can hope for is a view from the collective ambiguous we.
Body, Mind, Spirit am I the area of conjunction between these highly amorphous concepts?  Leaving huge gaps in my perceptions, portions of all 3 like submerged icebergs.  Lurking below and above my awareness. Plumb a little deeper, and all Three start to show themselves to be divisions in name only.
That in all likely hood I no more have my own mind, body or spirit then I have my own planet. If all that is comes from one source, and returns to one source, how does that leave any of us with our own anything?
I may very well be a delusion wrapped in a delusion, piles of lies to give comfort. For me the problem has come down to persistence, the best game worlds are those that are still going even when your not paying attention. I've played and played in other realms, no matter how far I might get in mind, or spirit my body is right where I left it. No matter any of the 3 I delve into the other 2 are waiting right where I left them.
So what am I? I'm not sure it really matters anymore.

Balance of the Anointed

The other day someone pointed me to the Alex Grey picture of Jesus.

At the bottom of this image were these excepts from the gospel of Thomas.

Jesus said "When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside, and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same...then you will enter the Kingdom of God."

I've come to think of this as the balance of the anointed one. I'm come to see these in my own way, being an eclectic mix so is my take on this concept.

First I'd like to look at top to bottom, This one has been covered all over the place.
There are few who have heard of the chakra centers. These are what I see as the top to bottom, This is where we get the idea of being heart centered. Here is a video, and you can find as much info as you want with a search

What is meant by making the male, and the female one? For me it points to the hemispheres of the brain. The left hemisphere is very outwardly focused male aspect, driven by logic. While the right hemisphere is an inwardly focused feminine aspect, driven by intuition. There is a twist on a very simple meditation that many people use on a regular basis. The candle meditation, where you pick a spot beyond a candle flame, and see the flame while looking at the spot. This will cause the flame to appear double. I also sometimes do this with just holding my finger out, and looking beyond it while seeing my finger.  This double vision causes both hemispheres of the brain to be active simultaneously. The male and female become one. Here is a nice binural to help in maintaining this balance

Lastly, only because for me this one has been the toughest. Balance your internal and external realities. We all carry around two realities, internal, and external.
For most of us these remain relatively close, meaning the line up fairly well.
When these don't line up very well all sorts of odd effects manifest. We all run around and make assumptions about the world we see based solely on dialogue running in our minds, this is a form of projection. We all project all the time, we are also projected on by the external world. For me this is where the being as little children is very handy. Children accept things as they are, they have no preconceived notions, they lack the experience to project.

please keep in mind I profess no religion, or do I say I actually know anything.

Lie to Me

I'm a liar, I can't help it. I lie to you, and I lie to myself. My own senses lie to me all the time. Nothing I see is really how I perceive it. The colors I see are never the color of what I'm seeing. Even allowing the senses their foibles, my mind will erase, and paint in items.
Everything about the place we find ourselves is designed to make me believe it's the end all be all.  So I'm going to lie to myself by default, and lie to you the same way. Lets forget about the fact that our being here together has to be a lie.
Instead how about we take a look just at my own internal processes.   Most of us are incapable of being honest even with themselves.  We have trouble taking responsibility for our part in the events of our lives.  We tell lies to make ourselves feel better. We tell lies to protect others feelings, which is still just to make things easier on ourselves.
So I'm going to lie to you, and your going to lie to me.

Thank you

Free? Will? hahah!!!!

Heyas, gonna talk a bit about free, and will today.

If you accept a creator deity that is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient, it would follow that your "freewill" is an illusion. You really have no choice, if what your choice will be is known before you choose.

I'd rather not get stuck on this point, as it really doesn't get to the heart of freedom, or will. Free will is an amazingly oxymoronic idea. Free nothing that has a physical existence is free. The idea of for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction comes to mind.  Free is never free, there is always a price, even if you have trouble directly seeing it.  Within the bounds of a finite creation, we create nothing. We move things around, combine them in novel ways, but we take what is there already, and re-purpose.
As for will it might be the most expensive of "freedoms" we ever exercise.
Will is something that is imposed, it is violent by nature. In exercising will I am saying I am the instigator,  I am the source, I know what has to happen.
There is so much to these concepts, I could tap away and never scratch the surface.
I'm going to impose my will on creation and see where it leads

Be Good, or else!!!

There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

I love this quote, it so clearly demonstrates the role our own perception plays in creating our experience of our reality.
I sometimes like to stress this point with the idea "Hitler woke up everyday thinking he was doing the right thing".

I'm not saying I endorse anything, your own moral compass must always be your guide, Just don't  get it twisted into thinking that your perception of a thing makes it so.

Living on the Edge

Take a look at these photos

That is the earth seen from the moon.
How about this one

That little blue dot made so famous by Carl Sagan when this video came out.

How fragile is this little ball we find ourselves inhabiting. How precarious our existence, Even going more then a mile from the surface we come to an environment not conducive to our life.
Everyone you know, everyone you love. every song, every thought, every horror show has happened in this little carved out niche. We know with certainty our beautiful little home is going to die. It's not a matter of if, only a matter of when. Our destruction maybe remote in the terms most of think, I tell you in the grand scheme it's not even a blink. Ronny Raygun once talked about the need of an outside threat to bring humanity into unity. The thought that it would take someone else to fight before we are able to understand our unity pains me. I see so much wonder and joy waiting in potential for us. All we need do is recognize it.

I am Insane, and Stupid, How about You?

The transience of existence is where I live. The idea that I have come from the void is a comfort. Vomited forth like one half of a particle pair in the reaches of space.  Spinning through a so called life, front side seats to the burning of Rome.
This is the darkness in my soul, the insane burden I place on this thing I call self.
I know less and less with each passing moment, the sum of human knowledge growing exponentially, my portion shrinking in relation.
Still I wonder how can we have allowed this paradise to become so jaded, so lost in the idea of persistent reality. The comfort of illusory security locking out the boogyman.  We hand over our power without a thought if the systems are really designed for our benefit. Even those that wake up enough to start asking questions rarely stop to think if they have enough information to even make an informed choice.
When was the last time most of actually read our constitution? How about asking the questions about our money. Ever ask where it comes from, how it's value is determined? Most of us never ask questions that may throw into doubt the life we are engaged in. Do you ever question your motivations? We have all to one degree or another invested into the existence we share. It is that very investment that becomes the trap. We can no longer question the validity of what we have invested in, or risk losing our investment.
I am insane, and stupid, I question everything, even my own existence.

Nothing doesn't exist in the universe we see

Almost all of us have grown up the idea of 0, the empty set, nothing.
Fewer of us go any further then that, we don't stop to see where this concept came from, and don't get it twisted it's an idea. There is no such thing as nothing in nature. Zero may well be the greatest single achievement in recorded human history, it may well be one the least truly understood.

check out a few links for some background if your interested.

For me it's the concept of nothing, no where do we look do we find nothing.
Even things we describe as being empty are far from it. When you pour a glass of water, your not really filling it, your displacing one thing with another denser thing. Even the misnamed vacuum of space is only a relative vacuum.
I would take this even farther as I've explained in an early blog about the LoA .
That using the idea of the void is the trigger to to cause the machine like aspect of all that is to find something to fill it.
